At the Rowatt, Saskatchewan facility we mill conventional and organic pulses. We split and polish peas, and clean and bag whole peas, chickpeas and lentils for domestic and export markets. The Best Cooking Pulses pea splitting plant has been certified organic for 25 years.

At Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, we mill 'Best' pulse flours and pea fiber. These ingredients are incorporated into baked goods, batters and breading, cereals, extruded snacks, nutrition bars, pasta, soups and sauces, health beverages, meat products and pet foods throughout the world.

Dry field pulses, all non-GM, are purchased from North American growers near our facilities in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Best Cooking Pulses prides itself on quality, fast-cooking peas for canning, super-polished split peas for retail markets, and grain-free pulses for pet foods.

'Best' Pea Fiber (an outer fiber made from cleaned pea hulls) is approved by Health Canada's Bureau of Nutritional Science. It is considered an intrinsic fiber under the 2016 fiber definitions proposed by the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA), and is approved by the USDA FSIS as a safe and suitable ingredient used in the production of meat, poultry and eggs.

The Portage la Prairie facility ‘Best’ Pea Fiber Pet, and 'Best' pulse flours for pets. These pulse ingredients comply with the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) definitions of pulse ingredients that are approved for use in pet food.
